We're having a library card design competition!

Two designs will be chosen, one for the Youth Department and the other for the Adult Department. Children are to submit to the Youth Department, Adults are to the Adult Department, teens submit to either depending on their design. 

Designs may be digitally created or hand drawn, while editing is permitted no designs generated with AI will be accepted.

Submissions will be accepted until September 30th. The public will be invited to vote on designs in October. 

Oh, and did we mention? Each winner will receive a prize!

Events held regularly for adult patrons include:

Monthly Speaker Series - Sponsored by our Friends of the Library, we feature topics ranging from the History of Vernors, Black Bottom, to Haunted Detroit and beyond. 

Book Club - A book is chosen each month, study guides and discussion questions are available upon request. Typically, book club meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month

Film Club - Meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 5:30pm, we watch the movie separately and then discuss our takeaways. At the end of every meeting we vote on what we'll watch next month!

Events held regularly for Youths and Families

Storytime! - join us to play, sing and listen to stories with your little one. Stick around after for some unstructured play time! Children ages 2-5 accompanied by caregiver. Held on Thursdays at 11:15 AM

Crafternoon - our Youth Librarian teaches children to make a fun seasonal craft, which typically takes place on Wednesday afternoons. Check out our calendar for specific dates!

Family Game Night - Held monthly on Tuesdays!
