AIMS

We intend to provide:

      careful stewardship of the public trust, using funds effectively and efficiently

      an eco-friendly, comfortable, safe and conveniently located building that is accessible to all citizens by any mode of transportation.  We intend to maintain the existing facility so that it is an inviting place to visit and to make improvements and additions as needed.

      services and programs that are valued by the community and enhance the role of the library in the community

      a place for non-profit community groups to meet

      technology to help supply the widest possible access to information, efficient and cost-effective library data systems and products and programs for patrons

      a book and information collection in a variety of formats that is maintained at the higher service levels as determined by the guidelines of the Library of Michigan [12-15% of overall budget]

      an increase in the hours of operation at an enhanced level of service as determined by the guidelines of the Library of Michigan [50 hours per week]

      a well-trained staff that is prepared to serve the public in a competent, efficient and friendly manner

      staff with the appropriate amounts of time, training and resources so that they may provide excellent services and programs to enhance the community’s enjoyment of the library
